Key Stage 2 children from Benjamin Adlard School in Gainsborough experienced life as a Viking for the day with a visit to Murton Park.
Throughout the day, each child participated in a number of activities which helped them fully understand the Viking way of life.
The children learned how to make oil lamps from clay, guard their settlement from attack, make bread to feed the hungry warriors out hunting, and collect wood from the forest to keep the fire roaring
Even during a well- earned lunch, the children had to remain in role and enjoy a feast with the Viking Lord and Lady.
However, the highlight of the day, as far as the youngsters were concerned, was seeing two members of staff locked in the stocks.
Our children learned a lot from the day and have since produced outstanding work in both English and history,” said teacher Hannah Shucksmith.
