Gainsborough: Police appeal after woman is assaulted in woods

Police are appealing for information after a local woman was assaulted by a man in local woodland.

The 43 year-old woman was attacked as she walked through Warren Wood off Lea Road shortly before 3pm on Saturday, 15th June.

Her ordeal only ended when her dog turned on her assailant, who released his grip and the woman was able to escape and run away.

The man is described as being slim and in his late 40s or early 50s, with shoulder-length blonde hair and wrinkly skin.

He was wearing blue tracksuit bottoms and a dark blue tracksuit top with a grey strip on the sleeves and collar.

The woman was left with cuts and bruises and badly shaken by her ordeal.
