Two men accused of murder after a body was found in a smoke-damaged Gainsborough terraced house are to face a retrial next year after a jury at Lincoln Crown Court was today (Tuesday) discharged for legal reasons.

Martynas Kupstys, 25, of Aegir Close, Gainsborough, and Andrus Giedraitis, 29, of Riseholme Road, Gainsborough, each denied the murder of Ivans Zdanovics between 15th and 18th January this year.

The jury at Lincoln Crown Court was told that Mr Zdanovics, 24, died from smoke inhalation.

His body was found in an upstairs bedroom at his house in Etherington Street.

The remains of a burnt out fire were discovered downstairs.

After discharging the jury Judge Michael Heath ordered that a retrial be held commencing on 2nd March 2015.
