IT’S certainly not boring being a pupil at Wales High School.
The school was recently visited by The Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) who treated students to two performances on Hamlet.
The Young People’s Shakespeare production came to the school as part of an autumn tour of schools and theatre venues across England.
It is a new way of reaching audiences who many not normally have access to the RSC’s work.
Wales High was one of three schools it visited during its time in Rotherham.
The 70 minute version of the play was performed at the school using Shakespeare’s original text.
The RSC also performed twice at Magna Science Adventure Centre.
Meanwhile lunchtime at the school has also become more interesting.
Pupils are now able to have a Quorn meal for their lunch. The menu options now includes tasty Quorn tikka massala pieces, Quorn stir fry and Quorn and spinach lasagne for youngsters to try.
Wales High is also trailing a new breakfast to go initiative, which has seen a breakfast cart open at the front of the school offering fruit smoothies, juices and a variety of sandwiches.
