Police inspector Phil Davies and Alan Diggles, chief executive of Hope Community Services, were the guest speakers at a special service of thanksgiving on Sunday 19th January to commemorate the first anniversary of the ‘crime in the community’ prayer group at the Worksop Salvation Army Church.
“This group meets each week in the belief that prayer for local issues related to crime can, and does, have a positive impact in the local community,” said Captain Ashley Dawson, of the Salvation Army.
Prayer subjects include the inspector and the local police team, the victims, the perpetrators, the underlying causes of crime and local policing issues.
Mr Diggles spoke about homelessness in Bassetlaw.
Captain Dawson extended an open invitation for anyone to join the community prayer group on Mondays at 3pm in The Salvation Army Church on Newcastle Avenue.
