A POLISH man from Gainsborough who stole a motor vehicle was praised by magistrates for his probation work.

Dawid Dziwota from Kexby Walk, Gainsborough, appeared before Lincoln Magistrates Court with an interpreter to have his community order extended after he became unable to complete the remaining 28 of his 155 hours unpaid community work after he suffered a hand injury and had to have an operation.

A probation spokesman said that Dziwota was often complemented on the high standard of the work he has been able to complete so far.

“We are very pleased that you are doing the work so well and we compliment you for that,” the magistrate told Dziwota, before extending his community order for another three months.
