Gainsborough: Man assaulted in robbery

A man has been assaulted during a robbery in Gainsborough yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon.

The 35-year-old was assaulted by a man allegedly attempting to obtain money from him on Hickman Street at around 2.15pm.

Lincolnshire Police said he was not injured during the robbery.

Two local men, aged 41 and 47, were arrested on suspicion of robbery. They have since been released on police bail to return to the police station at a later date when enquiries into the incident are complete.
