Rotherham Town Cricket Club have had the perfect preparation for its annual charity day on Sunday with victory for its first team.
The club easily saw off Appleby Frodingham on Saturday in the Yorkshire League to remain top of the table before attention quickly turned to its gala day.
Town’s charity day is in aid of Rotherham Hospice. Last year’s event, the third charity day for the hospice, was a great success and raised more than £2,000.
The fun begins on Sunday at 11am at the Clifton Lane ground and features a 6-a-side tournament between Rotherham, Conisbrough Cricket Club, Wath Cricket Club and Wickersley Old Village Cricket Club.
There are also activities for all the family including a BBQ, bouncy castle, face painting and pie and peas.
