Captain’s Column: Touch of class?

editorial image

I HAD to laugh at this snap I spotted in the Standard.

John Leggott is pictured gratefully receiving a cheque from proceeds from the village pantomime. The money was raised by the somewhat ironically named ‘A Touch Of Class’ group.

What I cannot fathom is that folks actually give up their free time to dress up and do this kind of thing.

Well hats off to them.

You wouldn’t catch me doing it. But I guess it rivals sitting at home and watching the television.

Which I wouldn’t do either, the pub is more my thing.
