GAINSBOROUGH gal Alice Atkinson reached the ripe old age of 100 last week and she sounds like she’s still getting out and about and making the most of life.
I’ve got a good few decades to go but I can already tell that if I get the magic 100 I won’t be nearly as active as she is. I’m not even that active now.
The surprising thing is that in Gainsborough House’s 46 year history Alice is the first pensioner to reach her big 100th birthday bash.
With the advances in medical care I am sure that some of the youngsters round here will be hanging around until they’re into their 110s.
I wonder how long the Government will make them work before retiring?
Plus these days you can’t cross the market square without tripping over a pensioner.
We’ll be overrun.
