BRITAIN in Bloom judges visited Gainsborough on Monday this week to cast their experienced eyes over the entries for this year’s contest.

The town has once again been entered into the popular flower competition and everyone involved is hoping to build on last year’s success when it was given the Judges Prize for the quality and design of the landscaping at Marshall’s Yard.

Leader of Gainsborough Town Council Paul Leeder said the competition was really tough this year.

“Entering into the contest is a great opportunity for the town of Gainsborough to take pride in our appearance – and this year after gaining additional members and sponsorship to the committee our entry is  stronger than ever,” he said.
