Bob Geldof

IRISH singer, songwriter, author, occasional actor and political activist Bob Geldof is coming to Lincoln Theatre Royal on Wednesday 21st September.

He rose to fame as the lead singer of Irish rock band The Boomtown Rats in the late 1970s and in 1984 he and Midge Ure founded the charity supergroup Band Aid to raise money for famine relief in Ethiopia.

Geldof left the Boomtown Rats in 1986 to launch a solo career and publish his best-selling autobiography Is That It?

He released a new album in February 2011 called How To Compost Popular Songs That Will Sell.
