At their meeting on Monday 20th April, 27 members and visitors were introduced to Boogie, a five year old Barn Owl. Boogies owner Annette McKenzie, explained that she used to work at an animal rescue centre where they were looking for a home for Boogie so she decided to adopt her. As Boogie was born in captivity, animal law states that she could not be released, as her release could be detrimental to wild owls. Boogie is a fit and healthy owl who delighted the garden club members with her antics.
During the AGM members agreed to returning to an earlier meeting start time of 7pm from the meeting 21st September 2015.
