Be aware of stroke signs

NHS Lincolnshire are advising Gainsborough residents to be aware of the early symptoms of stroke.

The new FAST campaign focuses on four easy steps to identifying a stroke.

These are: facial weakness, can the person smile? Has their mouth or eye drooped? Can the person raise both arms? Can the person speak clearly and understand what you say?

If the above symptoms match, call 999 immediately.

Medical director Chris Welsh said: “What we are trying to do is minimise the long term harm that a stroke can cause and we can do that by giving the public the information they need so they can act fast and then we can make sure they get the best kind of treatment.”
