A civilised affair for all

GAINSBOROUGH’s Folk Festival was a turn up for the books.

I popped along to Trinity Arts Centre to check out the folk scene and see what was what. I was surprised to find I was the only beardie weirdo in the place.

Has folk music really changed so much?

Instead of meeting Roald Dahl’s the Twits (only with guitars), I was faced with some very keen cut, clean shaven, folks for some very entertaining good clean fun.

Good old Sue organised a great show so hats off to her for that, not that there were many hats on display either. Not even the odd knitted tea-cosy posing as a hat.

Thankfully folk music hasn’t changed so much and there were a few elements I could recognise, the odd guitar and banjo for instance.

Well done to everyone involved.
