COMMUNITY groups are set to benefit from a £300,000 pot of cash available as small grants from West Lindsey District Council.
The new community grants scheme launched this week invites groups to bid for a share of the cash.
£250,000 has been allocated within a Community Action and Volunteering (CAV) Fund, which is split between six areas - including Gainsborough which has £40,000 available.
Local district councillors will sit on a panel with community members to agree on grant applications. The maximum grant available is £250.
The CAV Fund is for activities that bring the community together, like setting up a residents group or gardening club, or small improvements like painting community rooms and projects involving volunteers that promote community action.
The other £50,000 will help community groups organise Olympic and Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
