THE SECOND MRS TANQUERAY AT KING’S THEATRE
ANTICIPATION of an enjoyable time on Wednesday night, when Mr Lodge-Percy and Miss Henrietta Shrier and Co - from the Lyceum Theatre by the way – were announced to present The Second Mrs Tanqueray were fully realised.
In the space at our disposal it would scarcely be possible to adequately set forth the problem Sir Arthur Wing Pinero weaves into his fascinatingly told story, and this must be the excuse in refraining from the attempt. The dominating personality of Miss Shrier was apparent throughout the piece on Wednesday night. To all the contrasting moods and emotions she responded with supreme convincive force and carried the “house” entirely.
