A fundraising Craft morning was held in the Chapel schoolroom on Saturday 13th December, the Messy Church team organised paper crafts, decorating candles and making Christmas table decorations. Ladies from the weekly sewing group also set up tables where you could make decorative wreaths and peg dolls. Carols were played and refreshments were served throughout the morning along with the monthly book sale, £200 was raised for the refurbishment fund.
The December meeting of Messy Church took place at the Chapel on Sunday 14th, the youngsters enjoyed a morning of Christmas crafts, before joining the congregation for the last 15 minutes of the service which was taken by Rev Ruth Simpson, some of the youngsters dressed in Nativity costumes to produce a Tableau of the Christmas Story while others gave readings. The next meeting of Messy Church will be January 11th.
The annual Carol Service took place in the chapel, which had been beautifully decorated with candles and holly, the service was taken by Rev Ruth Simpson and the organist was Tony Simpson.
Those taking part were Mary Metheringham, Ian Cameron, Mona Drummond and Karen Welch and there was a musical contribution from a choir of singers from Churches in the circuit. At the end of the service coffee and mince pies were served in the schoolroom.
