ONCE again, the best of pop legends from the 1980s are coming together to rock Worksop’s Clumber Park in a top concert of classic music.
And of top of all that, the Worksop Guardian have tickets to give away to one lucky reader.
From Friday 17th - Sunday 19th August, Clumber Park in Worksop will host three top concerts.
Rockin’ in the Park will see Brit Floyd, Focus, Curved Air, the Strawbs and more take Clumber by storm, while finishing off the proceedings will classical music star Alfie Boe with his orchestra, supported by Laura Wright.
However, on Saturday 18th August, lovers of classic pop are in for a treat as the Flashback Festival will take music lovers back in time to the glorious 1980s with sets from OMD, Marc Almond, ABC, Belinda Carlisle, Go West and the Christians.
Past artists that have appeared on line up include the Human league, Rick Astley, Level 42, T’Pau, and many more.
Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (or OMD) was founded in 1978 by Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys - and now they’re all set to headline the Flashback festival.
Among their many iconic hits are Souvenir, Joan of Arc, Sailing on the Seven Seas, and Pandora’s Box.
ABC stacked up five smash top 20 singles in the 80s - including Poison Arrow, Look of Love, Tears Are Not Enough and When Smokey Sings.
Marc Almond rose to success with synth-pop pioneers Soft Cell - whose top five singles include Bedsitter, Say Hello Wave Goodbye, What, Torch and of course the iconic number one Tainted love.
Then of course, there’s Belinda Carlise - will you be there at Clumber to sing along with the chart-topping Heaven is a Place on earth?
Flashback festival will be at Clumber Park on Saturday 18th August.
