Misterton’s annual harvest festival is on Sunday, October 2, at 10.30am at the methodist church.
The village service is a chance to give thanks for the harvest and having plenty to eat – while remembering those without.
So everyone is invited to bring along a gift for Bassetlaw Food Bank, which provides food parcels for people in financial difficulty.
The service is followed by lunch at noon- a two-course hot lunch is £6. Transport to the service is available.
To book lunch, or for more details, call 752386 or 891376.
Bassetlaw Food Bank supplied food parcels to needy families over the summer but donations fell as donors were on holiday.
The food bank is in need of the following: squash, long-life milk, custard, pasta sauce, packets of rice, sugar, tinned tomatoes, biscuits, toothpaste and toothbrushes, and toiletries.
