The group welcomed over 50 ladies including 32 visitors to their meeting on Wednesday, May 4.

They were treated to a wonderful fashion show by Baron Bou. During the evening drinks and nibbles were served and everyone remarked on what an enjoyable evening it had been.

After the show, members were able to purchase the clothes which had been modelled during the show together with some superb accessories, including bags, fascinators and jewellery.

Future meetings, which are always held on the first Wednesday of each month, include:

June 1: A variety of public affairs and topics including a visit from Helen Crowder who is a representative of the ACWW (Associated Country Women of the World).

The WI are hoping to help with the project for 2016 which is to help the women of the Noatcha Community in Malawi, Southern Africa. Nottinghamshire hope to raise £2,944 to help in the purchase of pigs, pig styes and assistance in growing maize and vegetables which will help the women improve their income.

July 6: The group will be welcoming Jules of Jules Beads who will show members how to make the most of their accessories and scarves.

September 7: Mr Neil Curtis of Curtis Bakers of Lincoln will be coming to show members how to make a pork pie. Hopefully they will be able to make their own pork pies during the evening.

October 5: A demonstration by The Chocolate Drop on how to make chocolates. There will be a chance for members to taste some samples.
