A WORLD-RENOWNED comedy opera company are coming to the region to perform an old favourite and The Gainsborough Standard have two tickets to give away to one lucky reader.

Acclaimed comic opera company Opera della Luna will be returning to Lincoln’s Theatre Royal with its new production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s first success – The Sorcerer.

The Sorcerer is a wonderful tale of magician John Wellington Wells and the havoc he causes with an aphrodisiac in a sleepy rural village, but this production moves the story from its quaint Victorian setting to sleepy rural 1970s Britain.

Artistic Director of Lincoln Theatre Royal Ian Dickens said: “Opera della Luna’s comic operas are fun and unstuffy, bringing lots of new twists to well-loved classics.  We always have a fantastic response when they appear at the Theatre Royal.”
