A WORLD-FAMOUS troupe of high-flying circus extraordinaires is coming to the region and The Standard have one pair of tickets to give away.
The Moscow State Circus is bringing its award-winning show, Legenda, to Lincoln Theatre Royal in February, as part of the show’s last ever UK tour.
A spokesman said that this time, the world’s most famous circus has been revolutionised, with a huge cast of Russia’s greatest and most flexible circus performers pushing the boundaries of human physical ingenuity to the limit.
“Legenda is a sensational encounter between contemporary and classical circus and legendary Russian folklore figure Rasputin,” they said.
“Rasputin was often described as a romantic, a mystic and a visionary.”
“His vivid dreams will form the theme of this spectacle, which includes Gregory’s Girls suspended in mid-air on floating silks, the Bortnikova body-twisting contortionists, Russian bar acrobatics of the four strong Vassiliev Troupe and award-winning clowns Valik and Valerik, who have perfected the art of slapstick and Buster Keaton-style cunning capers.”
The entire show is housed in a specially designed big top uniquely domed to accommodate the complex rigging for the aerial acts and supported by only four king poles so as not to obscure the audience’s view.
The Moscow State Circus present Legenda at Lincoln’s Theatre Royal from Wednesday 9th – Saturday 12th February.
Tickets are between £12.50 and £29, and family tickets are between £85 and £105.
At the moment there is a special offer if you mention the two for one offer when booking tickets, which is valid only for the Wednesday 7.30pm, Thursday 5pm and 7.30pm and Friday 5.00pm performances.
