Local bands We Sleep Till Sunset, Gaucho, Propeller, Revolver and Stereoepic all rock the marquee in the afternoon before Kings of Lyon, Coldplace and Queen B finished the day off with a bang.

Gainsborough Town Councill activities officer Holly Parker said that it was a fantastic day, enjoyed by all. The first Gainsborough Fake Festival was well-attended by over 600 people,” she said.

“The local and the tribute bands were great and it was wonderful to see local talent on show.”

Holly continued: “Everyone I’ve spoken to had a brilliant tome and I’ve not heard any negative comments.”

“We all really enjoyed the bands and the sunshine - my favourite was the Kings of Lyon who were amazing - they blew me away. They were a great alternative to paying much more to see the real thing, and a lot of people said that Coldplace were incredible too.”

She added: “I’m so happy that Gainsborough got to have a Fake Festival eventually, after it was cancelled last year.”

“And we’re already looking forward to the next one with it being pencilled in for 1st August 2012.”
