A FAMOUS folk band are returning to Gainsborough to show music lovers once again just why they’re known as one of the UK’s finest.
The Tannahill Weavers are said to be Scotland’s premiere traditional band. With their repertoire spanning the centuries with their fire-driven instrumentals, topical songs and original ballads and lullabies, their music demonstrates the rich and varied musical heritage of the Celtic people to young and old alike.
After their acclaimed show at Trinity Arts Centre in 2011, The Gainsborough Standard’s Dave Green wrote: “The fusion of bagpipes, flute, fiddle and acoustic guitar creates a marvellous overall sound and their up-tempo instrumental pieces compel you to clap your hands or tap your feet to the beat.”
The Tannahill Weavers are at Gainsborough’s Trinity Arts Centre on Thursday 21st February. Tickets are £8 - £10. Call 01427 676655 or visit www.trinityarts.co.uk
