Sutton ramblers start 2016 with nine-mile outing

Sutton Rambling Club start their fortnightly New Year programme on Sunday, January 3, with a nine-mile ramble in the very scenic Two Dales area near Matlock.

The four-mile morning walk is from Beeley to the Grouse Inn on the A6 in Rowsley. There will be great views of the Derwent Valley en route.

Lunch is to be taken at The Grouse for refreshments. A sheltered area is available in which to eat sandwiches.

In the afternoon, it will be on to Darley Bridge, visiting Sydnope Dale with superb views of small dams. The more adventurous will have time to explore a waterfall and cave (bring a torch). The coach leaves The Bridge Inn at Darley Bridge at 4pm.

The coach fare is £10. Accompanied juniors free The Skills coach picks up at The Staff of Life pub in Sutton at 9.15am and at the Bancroft Lane end of Sutton Road (outside Asda) in Mansfield at 9.30am. Other pick up points are available en route.
