Scunthorpe Little Theatre Club returns to the Plowright Theatre next week with Ray Cooney’s hilarious farce It Runs in the Family.
Dr David Mortimore is on the brink of the biggest success of his career when he learns that a liaison with a nurse at the hospital 19 years ago has resulted in a son he knew nothing about – until now.
And the teenager is at the hospital, eager to meet his dad.
Dr Mortimore’s solution, in order to hide the facts from both his wife and the hospital authorities, involves the invention of two non-existent husbands for the boy’s mother and a number of further consequent tall stories.
Meanwhile, a nosy policemen is snooping around, a senile patient is on the loose, and his colleagues seem more concerned with the annual hospital pantomime.
The show is on from Tuesday, October 4 until Saturday, October 8 at 7.30pm each night.
Tickets priced £10 each (booking fee may apply) are available now from the box office on 0844 8542776 or online at www.plowrighttheatre.com
