With A Christmas Carol one of the most popular of his novels, this time of year seems most appropriate to talk about Charles Dickens.
And Mark Crees will be doing just that in Dickens Aloud at Lincoln Drill Hall next week.
Several years ago, Mark discovered a 39-volume National Edition of Dickens’s works in a junk shop in Liverpool and ever since, he has been reading Dickens out loud.
In this talk, Mark shares some of his favourite pages and reflects upon why Dickens still matters today.
The event is on Monday, December 21 at 12noon and tickets are £6.50 at www.lincolndrillhall.com
