World famous opera singer Lesley Garrett is to perform at The Baths Hall in Scunthorpe next year.

Men of Steel - A Massed Male Voice Choir with Lesley Garrett will take place on May 21.

The event has been organised by Scunthorpe Male Voice Choir, who will be performing with as many as 200 people on the night.

“Twenty-five years ago the Scunthorpe Male Voice Choir had an idea to pull together male voice choirs from all the major steel making areas of northern England to sing in a concert entitled Men of Steel,” said a Scunthorpe choir spokesman.

“This was held at the Baths Hall, our master of ceremonies was John Thirlwell and it included local soloists.

“Not in 2016 we are remembering that concert.

“Our musical director for the evening is Daniel Fields, our master of ceremonies will again be John Thirlwell.

“And the soloist will be our very special guest star Lesley Garrett.”

This event will be supported by North Lincolnshire Council’s Community Development Fund.

Tickets are priced £27.50 and £25 and are available now from the box office on 0844 8542776 or online at www.bathshall.co.uk or call.
