ONE of Gainsborough’s finest and most renowned theatre companies has announced the details of auditions for its latest production - and YOU could be involved.
Gainsborough Amateur Operatic Society is staging the musical Lionel Bart’s Blitz at the Trinity Arts Centre on 13th to 17th September 2011 and they’re looking for talented children to be in the show.
Just last year, GAOS celebrated 100 years of entertaining the people of Gainsborough with a special centenary show, and then returned this April with an inventive rendition of Gilbert and Sullivan’s Hot Mikado - but now it’s full-steam ahead for another polished performance for their forthcoming production.
Vicky Toward from GAOS said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for both boys and girls to perform with GAOS in a professional theatre, accompanied by a full orchestra in a full blown stage production.”
“The children will be in the chorus, however there are also named character parts to play.”
Children will need to be between the ages of eight and 14 years-old but under 5ft tall.
All rehearsals will take place from June to September, however all children involved will need to be available from Saturday 3rd September for intense rehearsals.
Auditions take place from 2pm to 5pm on Sunday 19th June at St. Thomas’ Catholic Church, Cross Street, just off Spital Terrace in Gainsborough.
If you are interested in auditioning or for any more information on GAOS, then you can contact Joanna Simpson on 01427 839928, email firstname.lastname@example.org or simply turn up on the day.
