Gainsborough Musical Theatre Society is urgently seeking more men to join them for their next production, Thoroughly Modern Millie.

“We are in need of men for the chorus of this show and we want to hear from anyone who is interested in getting involved in a great production,” said group spokesman Andrew Dawson.

“The show dates are 28th April to 2nd May and we rehearse at 7.30pm on Tuesday evenings at our studio at 30 North Street in Gainsborough.”

Thoroughly Modern Millie is set in 1920s New York.

Millie Dillmount and Dorothy Brown are just two of the girls living at the Priscilla Hotel for Single Young Ladies .

Dorothy is a naive, old-fashioned girl from a seemingly privileged background who dreams of being an actress.

Millie , meantime, used to be old fashioned, but now has modern thinking , a modern look, and wants to be a stenographer with prospects of a quick promotion.

Love is not in the equation for Millie, despite the interest of happy-go-lucky Jimmy.

But then she meets the wealthy Muzzy Van Hossmere, who tries to convince her that only true love will lead to happiness.

Meanwhile, Dorothy mysteriously leaves New York and Millie and Jimmy set out to find out what happened to her.
