fun and fitness rarely go hand in hand - but wait until you Zumba.
Zumba is a fitness programme that combines Latin and lively international music with dance in an effort to make exercise more fun - and there’s a charity Zumbathon taking place at Richmond Park this weekend.
Zumba instructor Fay Wallwork runs sessions at The Studio, Gainsborough, and said it’s an easy but exciting way to fight the fat.
“I’d describe Zumba as a fun dance and fitness workout,” she said. “It’s Latin-based but there’s no co-ordination involved and all abilities can try it.”
This weekend at Lark in the Park, you’re invited to dance for charity.
“This promises to be a fabulous event if the last Zumbathon is anything to go by,” said Fay. “In the winter we raised £2000 for Cancer Research UK and this time we aim to raise even more for British Heart Foundation.”
She continued: “DJ Harry Rogers will be blasting out the tunes as you shake your ‘thang’ with top quality instructors in, dare I say it, red hot sunshine!”
The Summer Zumbathon takes place at Richmond Park at Lark In The Park on Sunday 7th August from 12pm - 3pm.
The proposed donation for a ticket to participate is £10. Should you be able to get more sponsors then they are more than welcome by visiting www.justgiving.com/zumbagainsborough.
