FUN and charity are certainly in fashion once again as Malwend warm up for another one of their renowned fashion shows.

Malwend have previously held charity fashion shows for a number of good causes, including Help For Heroes and St John’s Ambulance.

But in the coming weeks, they’re offering an unforgetable evening of fun and fashion once again, but this time to raise money for the Urology unit at Scunthorpe Hospital.

“My dad has had bladder cancer for three years, and they have done fantastic work for him at Scunthorpe Hospital,” said Malwend committee member Elaine Hughes. “Some charities don’t know we’re here to raise money for them so we tend to pick charities that are in our sight.”

She continued: “We previously chose Help For Heroes we all know people in the armed forces, but we chose the hospital this time because they have done so many great things for people like my dad.”

Elaine said that people should expect a great evening with a fun atmosphere.

“Rehearsals are going very well,” she said. “We like to have a laugh and it’s not all too regimented and fixed. It will all come together on the night and could be a bit of a free for all!”

Elaine added: “It will really just be a good chance for everyone to get together and enjoy themselves. People can expect a great night of dancing, fashion and fun family show. The atmosphere is fantastic because everyone’s relatives come down and everyone enters into the spirit of the night to support it.””

As well as fashion, there will also be a raffle with a variety of great prizes.

“We’ve already sold half of the raffle tickets and we’ll be selling more on the night,” said Elaine.

“The first prize is £50, the second is £25 and we’ve had many more prizes donated by people and businesses from around the county. There’s everything from a good bottle of wine, some chocolates to garden plants and all sorts.

Not only that, but the audience are also in for some real treats and surprises too.

“We’ll have a it of other entertainment at intervals in the show but that’s a top secret surprise - you never know what will happen!”

Malwend’s charity fashion show to raise money for Scunthorpe Hospital’s Urology Unit will be taking place at The Blues Club, North Street, Gainsborough.

Tickets are £3.95 and doors open at 7.30pm.
