The district’s villages are plotting their welcome for cycling stars competing in next Sunday’s National Road Championships.

In Sturton by Stow the Methodist Church will be hosting a fun day, while at Stow drinks and cakes will be available on the green and the village’s annual bike ride will take place.

Kexby village hall will host a large screen to watch the race, pupils from Frances Alexander School in Lea will display futuristic bike designs and at Upton the Rose and Crown and Upton chippy will be open.

At Ingham both the Black Horse and the Inn on the Green are holding barbecues.
