After early pressure from the Wasps a knock-on led to a scrum for the visitors.

It gave them a chance to show their superior weight advantage and kick to touch.

The line-out was cleanly thrown by Jack Gregory and resulted in several phases, only for the ball to be lost.

The scrum from Long Eaton misused its advantage and pushed early for a Wasps penalty. Quick hands moved the ball to Louis Jafaar, who gained ground only for the ball to be stolen and then knocked on.

Wasps won the ball against the head and Sam Warburton scored a well-deserved pack try, converted by Connor Brewster.

Kenzie Chipman gained ground on a strong run deep into the Long Eaton 22.

Good work by Cian Vaughan put Sam Warburton into a hole through the defence to score under the posts and Connor Brewster slid the conversion between the uprights.

Quick play from the Long Eaton kick saw them step through the over-confident Wasps defensive line and score in the right corner.

Another try was added to leave the Wasps 14-10 ahead at half-time.

A tap and go at a penalty by Connor Brewster led to the third try for the Wasps.

Excellent running from the restart with quick hands across the pack allowed Ryan Bayly to make a looping run from right to leftand score in the corner.

Long Eaton scord two further tries but Wasps hung on with determined play.

Connor Brewster was man of the match.

Notable players were from 1–15 with the likes of Andrew Jafaar hitting every ruck, Jack Gregory winning ball against the head in a far inferior weighted pack. Tino Chappelow-Horwood playing far bigger than his actual stature, and Sam Warburton leading his pack.

New players are welcome to join the side, training is on Thursdays at 6pm. Other ages are available, contact [email protected] for more details.
