Reece Thorlby-Coy has hit the very first shot of this year’s Lee Westwood Junior Championship at Worksop Golf Club.
The local youngster, a previous winner of the scratch trophy, strode onto the first tee at 9.30am this morning to open the competition alongside Reece Samson and Greg Denton.
Around 50 junior golfers will battle it out for top prizes from PING, and the prestigious scratch and stableford trophies, which will be presented by Lee Westwood’s mum Trish this evening.
Westwood himself was in action at the weekend, finishing joint third in The Open Championship at Muirfield.
