WORKSOP Tetsudo Club brought two winners trophies back from the 40th annual national tournament.

The event on 13th November saw local martial artists excel, with a runner-up trophy and a finalist position adding to the Worksop success.

Under 16s Emily Smedley and Finley Musto displayed an excellent variety of techniques, focus and endurance in their pairs freestyle bout, as did adults Geoff Heaton and Hannah Musto who pulled out some surprising treats with high kicks and controlled exchanges in their freestyle too.

Instructor Natalie Heaton was delighted with the results.

She said: “Although there were the usual nerves on the day, each student entered the competition arenas with pride and confidence.”

“I’m so proud of them all for facing the challenge and raising the game well beyond class level.”

“The whole of the club competed and were right up there, showing their very best performance.”

The Worksop Tetsudo Club was established in January 2010 and training is held at the Balmoral Community Centre, Worksop. Classes run on Thursday evenings from 6pm to 6.45pm for Under 16s and from 7pm to 8.30pm for adults. Anyone interested should call Natalie Heaton on 07813 153704 or visit www.tetsudo.co.uk
