THE Worksop Junior Harriers picked up two team medals – one of them gold – at the Notts Cross Country Championships at Wollerton Park.

In the Under 13 boys race the team of Aidan Needham, Josh Charters and Ryan Wright came home first, taking gold, while the Under 15s team of James Lonsdale, Daniel Little and Thomas Carrott picked up a bronze.

Aidan Needham, Lucy Harrop and James Lonsdale were all selected to represent Notts in the Inter-Counties Cross-Country Championships.

Lonsdale, veteran runner John Hewitt and the veteran ladies team were all just pipped for medals, finishing fourth in their respective categories.

The championships were held at the very scenic but hilly Wollerton Park in Nottingham, where the mild temperature made pleasant, if unseasonable running conditions.
