Sheffield Steelers thrashed the Elite League’s bottom side Edinburgh Capitals 4-1 at Ice Sheffield on Wednesday night, to move into third.
It was Doug Christiansen’s men’s fourth win on the trot, and they took control after Stefan Meyer’s powerplay goal at 13.50.
In the second period Jeff Legue netted a double, scoring at 21.22 and then again on the powerplay at 26.37.
The Capitals pulled one back with a powerplay goal of their own from Marcis Zembergs.
However, the Steelers made it 4-1 – again with the man advantage – as Rob Sirianni found the net.
On Saturday Steelers travel to league leaders Belfast Giants, before a trip to Coventry Blaze on Sunday night.
