The Sherwood Pines Trail Races raised over £1,000 for local charity Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

David Corbett, race director, handed over a cheque to Bluebell Wood’s Emma Vizor, on behalf of race organisors Retford Athletic Club.

The event was held on Sunday 21st July at Sherwood Pines Forest Park and attracted hundreds of runners.

A delighted Emma said: “We’ve been honoured to be part of the Sherwood Pines Trail Races which has not only raised a significant amount of money for us, but has also helped to raise awareness of our services.”

“We’d like to thank David and co-organiser Charmian Heaton, as well as everyone who helped and who ran to support Bluebell Wood as the money raised will help us to care for more local children.”

David added his thanks to the charity for supporting the races.

“We were delighted to team up with Bluebell Wood for this year’s Sherwood Pines Trail races.”

“It was great to visit the hospice to see the facility and the amazing work they do, and to present them with a cheque on behalf of Retford AC in recognition of the brilliant support Emma and all the Bluebell Wood volunteers provided.”

“In total the event raised well over £1,000 for the hospice so we are really grateful to our volunteers, sponsors, and all those who took part.”
