The largest number of runners from the Gainsborough Striders club ever to compete at an away event amassed for the third series of races hosted by Lincoln Wellington AC at their Yarborough circuit.

And from juniors to seniors, all 56 heaped great credit on the club, producing some eyecatching porformances across the the three races over distances of 1k, 3k and 5k.

The stars of the evening were again the youngsters as all bagged podium positions, and ten clocked personal-best (PB) times.

Debutant Charlie Burgin was the winner in a marvellous time of 3.28 minutes, just egding out Jasper Humphries and Thomas Sweeting, whose respective times of 3.30 and 3.35 were identical to the PBs they achieved in their previous race.

The other PBs came from Joe Humphries (3.44), Harrison Greenfield (4.26), Ruby Rodgers (5.36), Abigail Hackney (4.40), Dyllan Marsh (4.47), Grace Housham (5.24), Joshua Swinton (5.30) and Elsa Rodgers (5.37).

The 3k race was aimed mainly at teenage runners, although an even younger Lucy Allan challenged herself over the longer distance and produced a time many seniors would struggle to achieve as she crossed the line in 12.49 minutes, just three seconds off her best.
