Parish Church Primary School have again struck gold in the sporting arena.
This time it was a group of Y3/4 children who made a splash in the pool.
They travelled to Lincoln Priory School to compete against 10 other schools in individual and relay races across the main three swimming strokes.
There were three groups of schools from different areas in Lincoln and the action was fast and furious with plenty of cheering as the children raced to touch the side first.
As the results were announced it was confirmed that Parish had performed brilliantly and claimed the winners spot in the heat for Gainsborough and District area.
They then waited anxiously to see where they had come overall.
As the teams were called out they had secured joint second place, only four points behind first.
Top backstroke swimmer Harvey Stevens said: “I managed to win my race and we were all cheering really loudly for each other.”
Swimming coach Janette Smith and performance coach John Anderson were delighted with the children, some of whom were swimming in their first gala.
