Lewin sets new track record in time trial

Fourteen riders lined up for Viking Velo Cycling Club’s nine mile race from Morton to East Butterwick on Sunday.

The winner was Andy Lewin in a new track record of 19:18, close to an average speed of 28mph.

Lewin needed to produce his best as he was pushed all the way by Julian Hesp, who lost out by the margin of just one second, recording another track record in 19:19.

Third place went to the rapidly improving Judd Parker with a super time of 21:30.

The riders then enjoyed a BBQ , in the spring sunshine, on the banks of the River Trent at The Dog and Gun Pub in East Butterwick.
