Lewin pips Burton to take Pot Luck title

The final round of the Viking Velo ‘2 up’ Pot Luck League took place in difficult, windy conditions.

The winning pair on the day was Arran Watson and Andy Lewin, who finished the 10-mile circuit in 29:47.

Phil Burton and Ian Barley were second in 32:28, and third place went to Ian Ferraby and Julian Hesp with a time of 33:15.

Lewin was the overall winner, just pipping the improving Burton.

Final league positions: 1st Andy Lewin 12 points, 2nd Phil Burton 10 points, 3rd Arran Watson 9 points (58:51), 4th Julian Hesp 9 points (60:12), 5th Ian Barley 9 points (61:15), 6th Judd Parker 6 points, 7th Simon Hobday 4 points (28:47), 8th Ian Ferraby 4 points (33:15), 9th Matt Fieldson 3 points.

The final club event of the 2014 racing season takes place this coming Sunday, with a nine mile race from Laughton Lane to East Butterwick.

The race is followed by an end of season BBQ.
