All four evening championships have been settled, in the West Lindsey Indoor Bowls Club leagues.

Monday Pairs champions Ray Robinson and Tom Whiteley (M2) beat Peter Taylor’s M1 22-11 and now only need one win for a rare unbeaten season.

Taylor’s team then lost 27-11 to Bob and Wendy Baines (M6).

Meanwhile Jean Scrafield and Gordon Tucker (M5) won one and lost one beating Eric Dobbie and Susan Mawer (M3) 18-9 but losing 15-8 to Tony Brown’s M4.

If M6 win their last match they will be the runners up.

Bob and Wendy Baines (T4) are within touching distance of the Tuesday Australian Pairs title, as Peter Cox, John Whitwell and Dorothy Jerryson (T6) crashed 15-9 to Tim Kempton’s T7.

T6 can still catch the leaders but only in the unlikely event of T4 losing both remaining games.

T4 beat the bottom team T1 (L. Palmer) 30-4.

Michael Proudley and Merv Johnson (T12) look like finishing a very creditable third and Pip Pearson’s T12 team will finish fourth.

At the bottom Geoff Gray’s T5 had a vital 14-12 win over Tony Brown’s T10 to remove any fears of finishing bottom, with newcomers T1 (L. Palmer) below them.

Marshalls were unimpressive when taking on Roses but a 5-3 defeat (2 shots) was enough to finish champions of the Outdoor Team League, ahead of Gainsborough Town who beat Misterton 7-1 (24 shots).

Misterton finished bottom by one point from Owston Ferry.

F5 (Ray Robinson, Tom Whiteley, Geoff Whittingham, and Dave Copley) are champions of the Friday Triples after easily beating Geoff Gray’s F3, who will finish bottom, 20-8,

Gordon Tucker’s F2 beat Barbara Allen’s F1 20-8 to keep alive their hopes of finishing as runners-up.
