THE Redlands Primary School table tennis team are hoping to return from Leicestershire as national champions tomorrow.

Steve Walker’s boys won the North of England title in Grantham at the end of last month, thanks to three emphatic victories.

That triumph followed a county championship win earlier in the year, and qualified them for tomorrow’s nationals at Hinckley.

Steve told the Guardian: “We had a great day at Grantham, beating Telford 7-1, a side from Wellingborough 5-3 and our old rivals from Cumbria 7-1 to become North of England champions.”
