With the new season fast approaching, Beckingham Bowls Club will be holding their annual clean up around the green and pavilion.
The clean up will take place on Saturday 12th April, starting at 9.30am, when it is hoped that as many members as possible will ‘bend their backs’ and lend a hand.
The club’s ground staff have been busy over the last six weeks treating, scarifying and cutting the green following the deep verti draining at the beginning of March.
As a result, the playing surface is in very good condition.
Weather permitting, the green opens on Thursday 17th April from 5.30pm with the first matches the following week.
Fixture lists for all four leagues have been circulated together with a diary of events and the cub is looking forward to another full and enjoyable season.
The club has been unsuccessful in their bid for funding from the IGas Energy Community Fund, but will continue in their efforts to gain funding to improve the facilities.
