Local cycling enthusiasts raised over £400 for a regional charity through the 2014 National Bike Week.
A sum of around £420 was handed over to the Lincolnshire and Notts Air Ambulance last week, at the Eight Jolly Brewers.
The money was raised through a bike ride, jointly organised by Gainsborough Aegir Cycling Club, West Lincolnshire Cyclists Touring Club and Gainsborough Cycles, as well as individual riders.
Aegir Cycling Club member Colin Smith raised the most cash and as a reward received a voucher for Gainsborough Cycles.
Guests at the presentation evening included Ann and Geoff Crawforth who received the cash on behalf of the Lincolnshire and Notts Air Ambulance.
The ride held in June proved a big hit with many riders enjoying outings suitable for families and individuals of all ages.
The rides that proved the most popular were 15 mile outings though the villages of Upton and Kexby.
The longest was a 30 mile ride that took riders out to Sturton by Stow across country to Brattleby.
After climbing the steep ascent of the Lincolnshire Edge, riders then headed to Harpswell, returning to Gainsborough via Heapham.
The National Bike Week cheque presentation evening was organised by Daniel Nicholson, Rachel Bradford and Trevor Halstead.
A statement from the organisers said: “Thank you to The Eight Jolly Brewers for their hospitality and to all who made the event a great success.”
The Gainsborough Aegir Cycling Club’s annual hill climb championship race saw some startling times by touring and racing cyclists.
George Carnall won the Aegir Trophy.
The course included a 541 yard ascent up the steep climb of Thonock Hill to finish near the Golf Club entrance.
