Aaron Watson wins Gainsborough Aegir Cycling Club time trial

Gainsborough Aegir Cycling Club’s Wednesday evening event was an 18 mile time trial climbing Thonock Hill twice.

Breezy conditions made the race interesting, which was won by Aaron Watson who was taking part in his first 18 mile time trial on this course,

Results (18 miles)

1st: Aaron Watson, 48 minutes 59 seconds, Viking Velo, 2nd: Trevor Halstead, 54 minutes 22 seconds, Gainsborough Aegir Cycling Club. (nine miles) Steve Brown, 28 minutes 51 seconds, Scunthorpe Road Club.

Next week’s ride is July 19th a short morning ride meet Roseway Gainsborough at 9.50am, new riders welcome.

The Wednesday 22nd July evening time trial is 18 miles The Bob Fotheringham H/C Trophy. Meet 6.45 pm at the summit of Thonack Hill past the Golf Club, 1st rider off at 7.00pm

The Gainsborough Aegir Cycling Club touring ride departed Gainsborough heading through Lea, Knaith Park,Willingham by Stow, Stow, Sturton by Stow, Ingleby and Saxilby.

After crossing the Fosdyke Canal the ride progressed to Harby, before joining National Cycle Network Sustrans Route 647 was joined. It was part of a sociable 45 mile ride,
