Gainsborough and Morton Striders took a group of over 20 athletes to the Woodhall Spa 10k last weekend.
Jordan Skelly, one of Gainsborough’s rising cycle stars, showed his versatility by donning his running shoes for an impressive 35.49, improving his personal best by 22 seconds.
Twenty-year-old Skelly moved into seventh place on the Striders all-time records which stretch back to July 1983.
A total of seven personal bests were recorded by the Striders and pride of place goes to Jonathan Drake who sliced an amazing two minutes 43 seconds off his previous best time, to finish in 38.49, a time matched by 17-year-old Dan Edwards.
Helen Robinson moved into fourth on the all-time list, creaming off 32 seconds from her time and recorded 44.56.
Robinson actually had a ‘negative-split’ time for the second half of the race when running the last 5K faster than the first 5K.
Shelly Ibbitson, a former Scotter Hare who merged with the Striders 18 months ago, sliced 91 seconds off her previous time to set a new PB of 55 55.

Housham was joined by eight-year-old son Dylan and Phil Kitchen who carried 40 balloons around the course.
Housham senior ran 28.45 with Dylan in a new PB of 28.41.
